Overview
The Air Release Valves or auto vents are fully automatic valves that require no
regular maintenance.
Their primary purpose is to release trapped air that accumulates in pipelines
during system operation.
As the system fills with water:
Air is vented through a small orifice.
The float then rises and seals the orifice, preventing leakage.
Operation
The opening and closing of the air release valve depends on the vertical
movement of a float
When air is present in the valve chamber:
The float drops, opening the valve seat to release air.
When water replaces the air:
The float rises due to buoyancy, closing the valve seat and preventing water
leakage.
